Dear Parents
A warm welcome back to all pupils and staff for the 2021/2022 school year. We would also like to welcome our new pupils who entered different classes throughout the school this year.
We would like to thank you for your co-operation to date and look forward to working with you as we support the children through these continuing strange times. Social distancing, hand sanitising and other Covid restrictions still apply this year but we hope that this coming year will see better times ahead for everybody and a return to some form of normality.
Staffing for 2021/2022

Uniform
School uniform days are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Tracksuit/PE days are Tuesday and Friday.
Lunches
Here in Boher N.S., as part of our Health Promoting Schools initiative, we have a Healthy Eating Policy. As part of this the children may bring in a small treat once a week.
Homework
Return to normal with spellings, (English & Irish), tables, reading etc. each night. As before if the children are experiencing difficulty, please let us know.
Children bringing in items from home – We would ask that the children still refrain from bringing anything in from home for the moment. This includes toys, little books etc. We have over 35 litres of hand sanitizer in school so each child does not need to bring in their own. There are 6 individual hand sanitising stations in the school and bottles of hand sanitizer on each table.
Book Rental – The book rental/art and photocopying money remains at €45 for this year. Many thanks to all those who have sent it in to date. If you are sending it in with your child, please put it into an envelope with your child’s name on it.
Pupil personal accident insurance – Pupil personal accident insurance forms have already been sent out. Please fill out and return at your convenience. The cost is €8 for 24 hours a day, 365 days in the year insurance.
Staff Meeting – We will have a half day on Friday 17th September to facilitate a staff meeting. Children may be collected at 12 noon.
Mid Term Break – We break for mid-term on Friday 22nd October. School reopens Monday 1st November.
First Holy Communion – We are delighted to be able to finally celebrate the First Holy Communion with our 3rd and 4th Class girls, on this Saturday, 11th September in Boher Church at 1pm.
In line with current guidelines each child may have up to 9 other people with them in the church for the ceremony.
Music is being provided by Bernie Boland and Brid McKenna on the day. We are looking forward to seeing the First Communion girls on Saturday.
We would like to reassure you all that we are continuing to do everything we can to keep everyone safe and sound in Boher N.S. during these strange and uncertain times.
